Frequently Asked Questions* How do I find a villa and how do I know if a villa is still available?
With our search engine 'Find your villa' you can quickly and easily search for a suitable villa. If you don't have a travel period in mind yet, then select 'No preference' at the arrival date. You simply select the country and region of your choice. Then you click on "Check availability!" and you will get a list of all villas we offer in the particular region. You then can refine your search even further by selecting several criteria.
The availability of our villas can be found in 2 ways on our website. If you have searched without an arrival date and have found a suitable villa, click on "Show villa" to go to the information page of the villa. At the top of this page, you will see an availability calendar, where you can check if the required period is still available. The second option is via the search engine on our website where you select the arrival date and lenght of stay. At "Find your villa" you select the country, region, arrival date and length of stay and then you click on "Check availability!". An overview of all villas that are still available are shown. If you wish, you can refine your search by selecting several criteria.
* How do I book a villa?
After selecting the country, region, arrival date and lenght of stay, click on "Check availabilty!". You will see an overview of all villas that are currently still available and click on "Show villa" once you have found a suitable villa.
On the information page of the villa click on "Click here to book this villa" to go into the booking steps. After you have filled out your details click on "Go to Overview and confirm reservation". Then you will see an overview of the costs. To make the reservation click on "Confirm reservation" and you will see directly on your screen the confirmation. You will also receive an e-mail with the provisional reservation confirmation.
After receipt of your provisional reservation, we will do a final availability check and when still available we will place an option on the required period (duration of the option varies from 24 to 72 hours, depending on the villa booked). We will send you an e-mail and request for a (down)payment. Once we have received your (down)payment we will send you a final confirmation. If the booked villa, after checking the availability, is not available anymore, we will send you a suitable alternative, if possible. If you do not accept this alternative, we will cancel your reservation without costs and when you already have transferred your (down)payment, we will refund it to you. When you change your mind regarding the reservation, you can cancel your reservation within 24 to 72 hours after making the reservation, without further costs.
* Can I book a villa with discount?
On last-minute basis, some villas which still are available could be offered with a last-minute discount. With our search engine you can search for available villas. When villas are offered with a discount, you will find them in the overview with a "%" for the name of the villa. If you want to see all villas with a discount at a glance, you can click at the top of the overview on "% Show discount villas only". The discount is already included in the published price.
* Can I also book a villa for an odd period?
During high season (June - September), a villa can usually only be booked from Saturday to Saturday, with a minimum of 7 nights. In low season for some villas it is possible to book it with arrival day other than Saturday and for shorter stays in the villa. If you want to book a villa for an odd period, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and our reservation team will check the possibilities.
* Can I also book airline tickets?
At VillaTrips it is not possible to also book flights. At the information page of the villa is stated which airport(s) are closest (distances are approximate) to the villa. With this information you can book your flight directly at your (low-cost) airline, like AirBerlin, EasyJet, RyanAir or Vueling to one of the stated airports.
* When and how do I pay?
After you received our e-mail that the villa is available, you must make a down payment of 30% of the total rental amount. The remaining balance payment (70%) is due 8 weeks before arrival and has to be transferred to the bank account of VillaTrips. When a booking is made within 8 weeks before arrival, the full amount has to be paid at once. For each received payment, you will receive a confirmation from us.
There are 2 ways to transfer the payment to VillaTrips:
You can use a bank transfer, stating your reservation number, for transferring the payments to our account. All bank details of VillaTrips can be found in the received provisional confirmation e-mail or at our contact page.
You can also pay with your credit card online with a secured connection by using Paypal. If you wish to pay via Paypal, please send an e-mail to our reservations team. You will receive a link from us to do the secure payment via Paypal. For making payments via Paypal, an additional charge will apply. You will be informed about the additional costs in advance and will be added per payment to the amount you want to pay.
* When will I receive all information about the location of the villa?
After the full amount is received by VillaTrips, we will prepare the travel documents. The travel documents will be sent to you by e-mail, as soon as possible and no later than 4 weeks before arrival (except for last minute bookings). In the travel documents you will find the exact details of the villa or the key holder, the details of the caretaker on the spot, an accommodation voucher and directions directly to the villa or to the key holder. The key holder will then guide you to your villa.
Note For safety reasons and to ensure the privacy of the owner or the current guests at the villa, we are not allowed to send any details about the exact location or the address of the villa in advance. We only can give them after the full payment is received and the travel documents are prepared.
* How can I cancel my booking?
When you are compelled by circumstances to cancel your booking, you must immediately send an e-mail to VillaTrips quoting your booking number. The day of receipt of your e-mail is considered as the date of cancellation. When you cancel your booking, a cancellation fee will apply, which you will be informed about after receipt of your e-mail. The cancellation fees can be found in our General Terms and Conditions.
When you have a cancellation insurance and if you have a valid reason for cancelling your booking according to your insurance company, you possibly can reclaim the costs through your insurance company. You will receive a cancellation invoice from us, which you can send to your insurance company.

VillaTrips.com is a member of the independent review site Trustpilot, where our guests can write a review about our service and their stay at the villa. On this website you can find reviews about our organization.
* Where can I find reviews about the villas?
After staying in one of our villas, we will send the guests an online review form, where we ask them to share their experiences about their stay in the villa, the service of VillaTrips and the service locally. All received reviews from our guests, can be found on our reviews page and on the information page of the villas.
* Is the pool at the villa open all year round?
In general the pool is open from May / June till September. Outside these months the pool is often not open. When you want to book a villa with pool outisde these periods and want to use the pool, we can always check this for you if this is possible. When it is possible, an extra charge for use of the pool can apply. Usage of the pool, however, always depends on the weather conditions.
