Ravello is a tourist resort located on a mountain of the Dragone Valley at about 5 km from Amalfi, in the province of Salerno, famous for its views and gardens. Ravello is also known for annual music festival, taking place in beautiful gardens. Two of those gardens, and big tourist attractions are laying around Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, which offer great views of the coastline. The architectural style of these buildings is characteristic for the overall Amalfi coast. As many towns on the Amalfi Coast, Ravello also has a cathedral called Duomo di Ravello, built in the 11th century, dedicated to San Pantaleone. Another place worth visiting is the ‘Museo del Duomo’, including exhibitions with a sculpted marble head of a woman by Nicola di Bartolomeo da Foggia. Discovering Ravello by foot is a very nice experience, as from every corner you will have a wonderful view! But if you really like to hike, you can walk to other beautiful places such as Amalfi or Atrani. If you would like to do a full day boat excursion, it is Amalfi you have to visit first, and from there take the ferry to Capri. And if you would like to learn more about the wonderful Italian cuisine, there are different opportunities in Ravello for taking cooking classes from experienced cooks. The nearest airport to Ravello is Naples Airport. Flying to this airport is the easiest option, followed by taking a car or public transport to reach Ravello.
