This former Mallorcan fishermen’s village is located in the bay of Alcudia, and is part of the municipal district of Santa Margalida. It has been transformed to an important tourist resort in the early 1970’s, with all the roads leading to the beautiful clean, sandy beach. Alongside the promenade many restaurants and bars are established, and if you like to go out, trendy clubs can be found down at the beach. The main beach is called Playa de C’an Picafort, which is around 1,5 km long and different kinds of water sports are offered here, such as windsurfing, banana-riding and water-skiing. Another, more quiet beach is the beach of Son Baulo, and here, a small protected nature reserve can be found as well. Some things in the area that are a must-see are the Labyrinth Giant Wooden Maze; a wooden maze the size of a football pitch which will keep you busy for around an hour, or the Son Real Necropolis; a prehistoric graveyard, which includes more than a hundred underground tombs. Furthermore, a daytrip to Alcudia can be made where you can wander around in the medieval streets of the old town or spend a day at the beach. A villa with private pool in Ca’n Picafort is situated at about an hour car drive from Palma Airport.
